Hanover Cop Charged For Allegedly Raping 15-Year-Old, Given $1-Million Bail

Latest Jamaica News, Hanover: The Hanover policeman who was recently charged for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl, at the Lucea Police Headquarters holding area, was issued bail in the sum of $1-million when he appeared in the Hanover Parish Court, on Tuesday, July 9.

The accused 22-year-old Constable Akeil Maxwell, was ordered to surrender his travel documents, and to report to the Anchovy police station three times per week.

He was granted bail after the court was told that the result of the DNA testing, may not be ready until the next three months

He is to return to court on September 24.

Reports are that on June 20, the alleged victim was being held at a holding area, at the Lucea Police Headquarters, when Constable Maxwell allegedly went inside the holding area, and had sex with her.

The matter was reported to other officers at the station, and the Constable was taken into custody and later charged.
