Jamaica News, Hanover: The Hanover Charities and other joint partners which include the Tryall Sports Club and the Round Hill Foundation, brought a sparkle to the newly constructed Orchard Sports Complex in Hopewell, on Friday, February 15, with the hosting of a Football fun day.
The event which was hosted at senior and junior level, saw four teams out of the parish of Hanover, coming out to participate in the event.
In the first match up, it was totally a one-sided affair for the Bethel Primary footballers. The junior team displayed first-class tactics on the field to defeat a much weaker looking Lucea Prep, by six goals.
While on the senior level the Round Hill Hotel senior team was no match for the Tryall Resort senior players, who brushed them aside by four goals to nil, to walk away with the Orchard Complex trophy.
Katrin Casserly, Chairman for the Hanover Charities told Mckoy’s News that her organization is very pleased to be behind the upliftment of youths in and around the Hopewell community.
“The Orchard Sports Complex was constructed to host events such as these, we at Hanover Charities and our joint partners are very proud to be contributing to the upliftment of youths and the community in general,” stated Mrs. Casserly.
“Today is a great moment for us and we hope to continue to host events such as these from the complex which will no doubt create a positive impact on the lives of juniors and seniors in and around Hopewell and the parish of Hanover,” she added.
The event was well attended and saw the kids being presented with goodies such as snow cones, popcorn and the luxury of a giant bounce about.
