Jamaica Crime News, Manchester: Two men were shot and killed ,and three other persons shot and injured, as gunmen carried out a drive-by shooting in Three Chains district, Manchester on Saturday morning, October 13.
The deceased has been identified as Matthew Johnson, 20-year-old laborer and Damion Britton, a 36-year-old refrigerator technician both of the same address.
Three other persons who were also shot and injured have since been admitted to hospital in serious condition.
Reports by the Mandeville police are that about 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Johnson and Britton, along with the other three injured victims were among other community members, cleaning up a section of the playing field in their community where an event was to be held on Monday.
Some minutes later, a white Axio motor car with several men travelling on board drove to the location.
Two men alighted from the car and opened fire on the crowd, hitting all five persons multiple times to their bodies.
The gunmen then escaped in the said motor car.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, it was discovered that five persons have been shot.
They were all rushed to hospital, where Johnson and Britton were pronounced dead. The other three victims were treated and admitted in serious condition.
