Gunmen shot Five, two dead in St James drive-by shooting

Gunmen shot five persons, two men died while three others nursing gunshot wounds from the drive-by shooting in St James on Saturday afternoon, November 30.

Dead men are 32-year-old shopkeeper, Leonard Mais, and 26-year old vendor, Jason Reid, both residents of Spot Valley, St James.

Reports are that shortly after 4.30 pm, a group of men was standing along the roadway in Spot Valley, when two men alighted from a sports utility vehicle (SUV) and opened fire on them.

The gunmen then jumped back into the vehicle, which was sped away from the scene.

Five persons from the group of men along the roadway were subsequently found to be suffering from bullet wounds, and were taken to hospital, where two were pronounced dead and the others were admitted in serious conditions.

The St. James Police are investigating.
