The body of a businessman was found with a gunshot wound on Cottage Road in Content Gardens, St Ann on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Ricky Sams of Upton in the parish.
The police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reported that about 7.30 am, a passer-by saw the body in a gutter and alerted law enforcers.
On their arrival, Sams was seen with a gunshot wound.
The scene was processed and the body was removed to the morgue.
It is understood that residents of the area heard gunshots in the area on Sunday night, and summoned the police. However, nothing unusual was observed at the time.
The St Ann police were called again to probe another gun attack , in which two persons were shot, one fatally by armed men a few hours later.
According to reports, on Sunday at about 11.50 pm, James and a female were at the intersection of Market and Musgrave streets in St Ann’s Bay, when armed men opened fire, hitting them.
The hoodlums then fled the area.
The police were summoned and the wounded individuals were assisted to the hospital, where James was pronounced dead.
The woman was admitted in a stable condition
Investigations are ongoing into the latest murders to have rocked the garden parish of St Ann.
