Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: Two men who allegedly challenged the police in a shootout in Spanish Town, on Friday, January 25, were fatally shot and an illegal firearm taken from one of the men.
The dead men have been identified as 24-year-old Razieme Henry of Jones Avenue in Spanish Town and Navado Howell, a Person of Interest in the St. Catherine North Division.
Reports by the police are that about 11:30 p.m., the police were carrying out operations along sections of Port Henderson main road when both men were seen.
On seeing the lawmen, Henry and Howell brandished handguns, opened fire at the police and ran, the police returned the fire and during the shooting, both men were shot and killed.
A .38 revolver containing one live .38 round was taken from one of the men.
