Gunman Ran Leaving Illegal Firearm at Cane River, Bull Bay

Jamaica Crime News: One man who reportedly challenged members of a police patrol in a shootout at Cane River, in Bull Bay, Kingston on Sunday, April 21, fled the scene leaving behind an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition.

Reports by the Bull Bay police are that about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, a team of officers were on patrol at sections of Cane River when they saw the man acting in a suspicious manner.

Upon seeing the lawmen approaching, he brandished a handgun and opened fire at the police. The fire was returned and the gunman fled the scene.

Following a search of the area, a 9mm Browning pistol, which was fitted with a magazine containing fourteen live rounds, was found.
