A 44-year-old man who attacked a 16-year-old boy with an illegal firearm along Chilsom Avenue, Kingston 5, on Sunday, February 27,was disarmed by the teenager and later handed over to the police.
Reports from the Half Way Tree police are that about 2:00pm, the teenager and the alleged gunman got involved in a dispute, during which the elder man pulled a firearm and pointed it at the teen.
A struggle ensued during which the teen use a machete to inflict wounds to the suspect and managed to relieve him of the weapon.
The police were summoned and the weapon, a 9mm pistol with a magazine containing one 9mm round, was also handed over to the police along with the suspect.
