Latest Jamaica News, Westmoreland (McKoy’s News): Gunman Chopped Almost to Death A man who attacked another man with an illegal firearm in Bethel Town, Westmoreland on Friday, August 23, was chopped almost to death by angry residents, who later handed him and the illegal weapon to the police.

The accused whose identity is being withheld is presently at the Savanna-la-Mar hospital under police guard.

Man Chopped to Death in Clarendon, Another in Police Custody

Reports by the police are that about 8:00 p.m., both men were at an establishment when the accused pulled an illegal firearm and threatened to shoot the owner.

Angry residents in the community attacked the armed man with a machette, and he was chopped multiple times. He was then disarmed of a .38 revolver and three live rounds.

The residents then summoned the police and handed over the weapon, and the injured man to them. The gunman is presently at hospital under police guard.
