Jamaica Crime News, St James: The body of a man, who was said to have been reported missing from his community in Glendevon, St James, was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds along a section of Kings Street, in Montego Bay, on Monday morning.
The latest victim to be murdered has been identified as, Anthony Williams, otherwise called “Jay”, laborer of Glendevon in St James.
Williams was reported missing from his home in Glendevon on Friday night, August 31.
Reports by the police are that about 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 3, a male resident who resides at Upper Kings Street, in Montego Bay, smell a foul odour coming from the roadside and went to investigate.
Upon investigating, he stumbled upon the decomposing body which was wrapped in a sheet and dumped in a cluster of bushes along the roadway.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, it was discovered that the body was that of the missing man. Investigators theorized that he was killed elsewhere and his body dumped at the location.
One female resident of Glendevon told our news team that, Williams left his girlfriend at their home in Dallas, Glendevon on Friday afternoon and informed her that he was going to visit a friend.
Later that night when he did not return, she made several telephone calls to his cell phone, which went unanswered. They then filed a missing person report at the Mount Salem police station.
Despite seeing a major reduction in murders in St James, the parish still continues to record a number of senseless killings.
