A German Shepherd dog said to be valued at approximately$40,000 and three men, were shot and injured by armed men who carried out a daylight attack on persons at a yard in Wagon Wheel, Lilliput, St James, on Saturday afternoon, August 8.
The injured dog called ‘Homie’ along with a 29-year-old male of Providence Heights, another 30-year-old male of Lilliput and a 21-year-old youth also of Lilliput, all in St James, were treated in serious conditions.
Reports by the police are that about 3:00 pm, the three men and another male were at a premises located in the Wagon Wheel area, when five men armed with high-powered weapons drove to the area in a white AD Wagon motor car, and opened fire on them.a
The men ran in separate directions, but all three victims along with the dog which was at the front of the yard, received gunshot wounds, followed by which the gunmen escaped in a waiting motor car
The police were summoned and upon arrival, all three victims who were found suffering from gunshot wounds were rushed to hospital, where they were treated and admitted.
The German Shepherd was also taken to the vet, where it too was treated and is presently in serious condition.
Meanwhile, the police have indicated that the three injured men are believed to be major players in the lottery scam, following the recovery of several lead sheets and cell phones containing the names, addresses and telephone numbers of residents residing overseas.
The other man who was also at the scene at the time of the shooting managed to escape unhurt.
