Kingston, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Germaine Mason Usain Bolt: National High Jump record holder Germaine Mason died in a motorbike crash this morning in Jamaica, Thursday April 20, 2017, after partying with long time friend Usain Bolt.

The father of a 5-year-old son, Germaine Mason, 34-year-old was riding his power filled Honda CBR motorcycle in front of a convoy with other athletes, including Usain Bolt, and footballer Ricardo Gardener at the time of the Motorbike crash in St Andrew.

The Jamaican born and raised Germaine Mason had switched to the Great Britain team where he won the 2008 silver medal in high jump final in Beijing.
Reports are that shortly after leaving a party Germaine Mason and Usain Bolt and others were on their way home when Mason travelling on his bike in front of a convoy with the other men, swerved the motorbike to avoid an oncoming car, when he crashed and he was flung from the motorcycle.
The accident happened along Sir Florizel Glasspole Boulevard, in the Parish of St Andrew. He was taken to hospital where pronounced dead, no one else was involved in the cash. Michale Frater later came to the scene after receiving a phone call of the incident.
Many tributes have gone out on Social Media for the athlete gone too soon.
