(JCF) – George Quallo: Statement on Murder of Policeman

Commissioner of Police George Quallo is expressing sadness at the brutal murder of another Policeman.
“On behalf of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, I offer condolences to his family, colleagues and friends. It is never easy to lose a loved one, and there are no words to describe the pain that is felt when hardened criminals snuff out a life without thought.
“We, the JCF family, share your sorrow and offer you our support in this difficult time,” Quallo said.
He explained that teams from the Community Safety and Security Branch and the Chaplaincy Unit were dispatched to assist family members.
Thirty-five-year-old Constable Courtney Linton, who was attached to Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Division (Flying Squad), was gunned down at a party shortly after midnight in Orangefield, Linstead in St. Catherine last night. Another man was also shot and injured in the incident.
Linton is the second Policeman to be killed this week.
Detectives from The Major Investigations Division and the St. Catherine North Criminal Investigation Division are carrying out investigations.
