Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Ganja Found in Suitcase at Mobay Airport: A British woman who attempted to flee the island of Jamaica after over 20 pounds of marijuana was found inside her luggage at the Sangster International Airport was granted extended bail when she appeared in the St. James Parish Court on Friday.

Carissa McDonald, of a London, England address, faces charges of possession of, dealing and attempting to export ganja.

When the matter was mentioned in the St. James Parish Court on Friday, it was revealed that McDonald was granted bail on humanitarian grounds as she is an asthmatic patient and had fallen ill in the cells.

Parish Judge Natalie Hart-Hines attached conditions to her bail before setting the matter for mention on Wednesday.

Reports are that sometime in July 2017, McDonald went to the Sangster International Airport where she checked in to board a flight to Italy.

During security check, certain irregularities were detected in her luggage and as a result, she was called for over the airport’s intercom system but she did not respond.

It is further reported that McDonald did not go on the flight and the following day she was held at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston attempting to board a flight.

She was arrested following the seizure of over 20 pounds of marijuana which was concealed inside her luggage.
