This is as a result of a flare-up in gang-related violence in the area.
The police visited with business operators informing them to close their doors by 7 PM until the ban has been lifted.
Head of the St Andrew South Police Division Superintendent Arthur Brown said the measures are aimed at saving lives due to tension between warring factions.
Superintendent Brown further informed that there is gang feud between men from the bottom of Marverly and the top of Marverly which resulted in murders and shootings.
