Another Gang Related Murder in Cambridge


St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Another Gang Related Murder in CambridgeA man was shot and killed by a lone gunman in the Bickersteth area of Cambridge in St James on Tuesday, July 25th.

The victim has been identified as Adrian Thorpe, 36 years old laborer of Ducketts Road, also in Cambridge.

Reports are that about 8:30 on Tuesday night, Thorpe was travelling in a robot taxi which he boarded in  Anchovy. Another male passenger also boarded the taxi.

On reaching a section of the Bickersteth main road at a location known as Seven Rivers, Thorpe asked for a stop.He was in the process of alighting from the taxi when the other male passenger brandished a handgun and fired two shots, hitting Thorpe in the back of his head.

Immediately a man travelling on a motorcycle rode up and the gunman ran from the taxi and made his escape on the motorcycle.

The other passengers and the driver escaped unhurt, and they alerted the Cambridge police.

Upon arrival, the scene was processed and the victim transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
