Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Fruit Vendor Beaten Unconscious: The Barnett Street police in Montego Bay say they are now in search of two men and a woman, who beat a male fruit vendor almost to death in the vicinity of the police station on Tuesday morning.
The police further stated that the man who was beaten unconscious by his attackers is presently at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in serious condition.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 9, the fruit vendor who operates from a stall at the intersection of Barnett Street and Fish Lane in Montego Bay was conducting business as usual when he was attacked by the three.
It is further stated that the attackers who were armed with machetes, stones and large sticks set upon the fruit vendor and beat him causing severe head injuries.
Officers ran from the station after hearing the uproar and managed to rescue the vendor before he was beaten to death. He was transported to hospital by the officers where he was admitted.
Meanwhile, all three accused are now being sought by the lawmen.
