St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Man Accused of Fraudulent Conversion: A man was brought before the St. James Parish Court today after he was accused of fraudulently converting a woman’s money to his own use and benefit.

Facing the fraudulent conversion charge is Karl Hill of a St. James address. He is represented by attorney-at-law Brian Clarke.

The courtroom of Parish Judge Sandria Wong-Small heard that Hill was entrusted to sell the woman’s vehicle for her.

A certain period of time elapsed and no money was forthcoming. The complainant later discovered that the vehicle had in fact been sold as another name appeared on the title. However, Hill failed to turn over the proceeds from the sale of the vehicle.

The matter was reported to the police and the accused man was arrested and charged.

During today’s sitting, the clerk-of-court told the court that they were awaiting a statement from the Tax Office.

In light of that, Judge Wong-Small set a further mention date for August 30 and Hill’s bail was extended.
