Four robbers were taken into custody, and two illegal firearms and several rounds of ammunition seized, by the Constant Spring police in St Andrew, on Friday night, May 17.
The names of the men have not yet been released by the police.
Reports by the Constant Spring police are that about 11:00 p.m., on Friday, a team of officers were on patrol in Russell Heights, when they received a report that a robbery was in progress in the area.
The lawmen staged a roadblock at a section of the roadway and intercepted a Toyota probox motor car fitting the descriptions of the vehicle in which the armed robbers were travelling.
The vehicle was stopped, and four men who were travelling on board was taken into custody.
A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of one Browning 9mm pistol, fitted with a magazine containing Six live 9mm rounds, and a Sig Sauer P226 – 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine which also contained Six live 9mm rounds.
