Four Persons in Custody in Connection with Stabbing Death of Student

Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: four persons including a 15-year-old male student have now been taken into custody in connection with the stabbing death of another 16-year-old student in Bog Walk, St Catherine on Monday, May 14.

The victim has been identified as Kevaughn Barnes of Main Street in Bog Walk, St Catherine.  Another student who was also injured in the incident remains at the hospital in serious but stable condition.

Reports by the police are that, shortly after 3:00 pm on Monday, Barnes and the other student were walking home from school along the Bog Walk main road.

It is further reported they were approached by the 15-year-old student and three other men who brandished knives and stabbed both students several times to their bodies.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, both injured students were rushed to the hospital where Barnes was pronounced dead and the other student admitted.  Following investigations, the four persons were taken into custody on Tuesday morning.
