Four people were shot, one fatal at an illegal party that was being held in Glenbrook community, Withorne Westmoreland, early yesterday morning (September 12)
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Shaquille Samuels otherwise called “Peas head”.
According to reports, sometime after 12:00 am, patrons were at a party when two men rode up on a motorcycle and alighted. One of the men approached a female and an argument developed between him and the female. Another female intervened. Samuels was standing beside the females and he too got into a confrontation with the man. Firearms were drawn, and It is alleged that the man opened fire on Samuels and the females, before fleeing the area on foot.
Samuels and the two females were rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The two women were admitted, one stable and the other critical.
The shooter then turned up at the Savanna-la-mar hospital with gunshot wounds to his chest. He was admitted in critical condition, and is now police custody.
It is alleged that, after the shooter fired shots at the three victims, men at the party returned fire. When the crime scene was processed, over twenty-four 9mm spent shells were recovered.
The police have seized the motorcycle which was left at the scene.
