Video: Four Injured Following Freak Accident at Airport Roundabout in Montego Bay

 

At least four persons were seriously injured during a three vehicular accident which occurred in the vicinity of the Airport round-about in Montego Bay, St. James on Monday morning,  February 11.

Reports are that shortly after 7:00 a.m.the driver of a truck was travelling from the directions of Rosehall towards downtown Montego Bay.

On reaching the vicinity of the newly erected sign, at the Airport round-about, the driver was forced to swing to avoid colliding into the rear of several vehicles travelling in front.

The driver lost control of the truck which ran the one way down towards the Airport, and crashed into two other vehicles which were travelling around the roundabout.

The truck driver along with three other persons who were travelling in the other ill-fated vehicles sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital by police officers and firemen who rushed to the location.

  • That truck driver was speeding and driving recklessly before he got to the round about . He probably does not know the road well so doesn’t know of the speed bumps where the drives slow down. That’s probably why he ended up swerving. Happy to hear there was o loss of life. People, we need to take more care when driving on the roads.

  • The authorities need to remove the grid lines( or whatever they call it) that they placed on the road in that vicinity to slow down the speed of drivers. For drivers that are not aware of it, the sudden slow down can cause other vehicles to run into your back, to prevent this something similar to what happened here can occur thus endangering many lives.
