Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: The Independent Commission of Investigation and the Portmore Police, are now carrying out a full investigation surrounding the fatal shooting of four alleged gunmen, in Old Braeton in Portmore on Friday afternoon, June 1.

The police have indicated that they are not able to release the names of the dead men at this time, but they can confirm that three 9mm semi-automatic pistol and several rounds of ammunition were seized following the shooting.

Reports by the police are that shortly after 5:00 p.m, the police acted upon information received that armed men were spotted in a premises at Old Braeton and went to investigate.

The police further stated that, upon reaching the location they came under heavy gunfire from a group of men in the yard.

They took evasive action and returned the fire. A heated gunfire ensued and four of the alleged gunmen were shot and killed during the gun battle.

Following a search of the premises, three of the men were found clutching the three illegal firearms.
