CEO of the GraceKennedy Group, Don Wehby has announced that former CEO of the Jamaican Environment Trust (JET) Suzanne Stanley will serve as the new head of corporate communications at the company.
Effective July 6, Wehby noted that Stanley would “be responsible for leading communication activities and public relations across the group including liaising with the media”.
She will report to GK’s general counsel and chief corporate secretary Gail Moss-Solomon.
Stanley began as JET’s programme director in 2010 and was promoted to deputy CEO in 2015. She holds a master of science in environmental change and management from Oxford University.
Stanley served at JET for 10 years and has been a key member in the ‘Nuh Dutty Up Jamaica’ campaign which seeks to enlighten Jamaicans on the value of proper garbage disposal.
She was also instrumental in advocating for the ban on plastic (scandal) bags, which was implemented by the Government months ago.
Stanley has also been very active in the drive to protect the Cockpit Country from being impacted by bauxite mining interests.
