FORMER JAMAICA LABOR PARTY COUNCILOR CAUGHT WITH ILLEGAL FIREARM, HAS BEEN CHARGED

The police have now indicated that the former Jamaica Labor Party Councilor who was found in possession of an illegal firearm along a section of the Old Harbor road Road Spanish Town, St Catherine on Sunday, February 9, was officially charged on Wednesday morning, February 13.

Facing charges of illegal possession of a firearm is 40-year-old, Barrington Bailey, otherwise called ” Junior” businessman and political activist of Kirkland Heights, in Red Hills, St Andrew.

Reports by the police are that shortly after 5:00 p.m., the former Councillor was driving a Honda Aquara motor car through a joint military checkpoint at Innswood, along Old Harbor Road in Spanish Town, when he was signaled to stop.

He complied and it was discovered that he was a licensed firearm holder, but a further search of the vehicle led to the seizure of an illegal handgun,  a Taurus 9mm semi-automatic pistol.

Daley will appear in the St Catherine parish Court next Thursday, February 19.
