Manchester, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- Follow-Up News: Man Convicted For Killing Bar Patron In Manchester: On the night of March 23, 2013, Kemar Effes and another man entered a bar in Manchester and robbed patrons of personal items.

 

According to prosecutors Andrea Martin Swaby and Steve Walters who led evidence, one of the patrons, identified as Lawrence Smith, resisted and wrestled with the robbers before one of them placed a gun to his neck and shot him.

 

The man who fatally shot the patron, and claimed to have been trying to foil a robbery attempt at a bar in Manchester, has been convicted of murder in the Manchester Circuit Court yesterday.

A seven-member jury deliberated for 25 minutes before returning the unanimous guilty verdict in Effes’ murder trial. He is to be sentenced on October 30.
