Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)Flankers Man Fatally Shot by Police: A man who the police say engaged them in a shootout in the Flankers community in Montego Bay, St James on Wednesday morning, was fatally shot during the alleged shootout.

He has been identified as Jamari Harrison, otherwise called ” Rizzla ” 22-year-old labourer of New Road, off Pelle Drive in Flankers.

Reports by the police are that about 5:00 am on Wednesday, a joint military team armed with a warrant, went to a house in Flankers in search of illegal weapons and armed men.

Further reports by the police are that as they entered the yard the man known as Harrison opened fire on them and ran. He was chased and the fire was returned and Harrison was shot.

The lawmen indicated that a shotgun was recovered from the wounded man,  who was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A team attached to INDECOM is now carrying out investigations into this latest shooting.
