Five Shot in St James

Jamaica Crime News, St James: Two men were shot and killed, and three others shot and injured, during a shooting incident which occurred in the community of Rose Heights, in St. James, on Thursday morning.

The dead men have been identified as 35-year-old Dwayne Stennett, otherwise called “Rasta”, laborer and  Shane Williams, otherwise called ” Tino”, both of Rose Heights address.

Reports by the Mount Salem Police are that shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, Stennett and Williams, were among a group of men standing in a yard in Rose Heights, when they were ambushed by a group of armed men.

The gunmen brandished handguns and opened fire hitting all five victims to their upper bodies, before making their escape on foot in the area.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the five wounded men were rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where Stennett and Williams were pronounced dead. The other three male victims were treated and admitted in serious condition.
