Fisherman drowns in St Mary

The St Mary police have commenced an investigation surrounding the death of a fisherman, whose body was fished from a section of the beach in the parish on Tuesday, April 13.

The deceased has been identified as, 45-year-old Lyndon Riley, fisherman of Petersfield district, in Retreat, St Mary.

Reports by the police are that about 11:00 am, residents stumbled upon Riley’s body, which was seen face down in the seawater, at a beach in Retreat community.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.

Investigators say they believe that Riley met into difficulties while fishing and drowned, as there were no marks of violence on his body.
