Firearms, Ammunition and Over 1000 Pounds of Compressed Ganja Seized in Hanover

Jamaica News: Two men and a woman were taken into custody and two illegal firearms,  ammunition and over 1000 pounds of compressed ganja seized,  during an operation carried out in Green Island,  Hanover on Tuesday, August 7th.
Reports by the Hanover police are that about 7:30 pm, on Tuesday a team of officers attached to the Narcotics Division carried out an operation in Davis Cove, in Green Island,  Hanover.
On reaching a section of the beach area the lawmen saw a group of persons acting suspiciously,  beside two Toyota Hiace mini buses.
The Jamaica music fraternity was plunged into mourning after the passing of “Carrot” formerly of world renowned group Third World.
The lawmen accosted two men and a female and then carried out a search of the vehicles.
The search led to the discovery of the two illegal weapons, a 38 pistol loaded with Five 38 rounds, and a 12 gauge shotgun along with Twenty-four live 12 gauge cartridges.
Further search of the vehicle led to further discovery of compressed ganja weighing over 1000 pounds.
All three persons were arrested and the drugs,  illegal weapons and both buses seized.
