Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Fire of unknown origin destroyed several stocked stalls in the popular Ray Ray market located in downtown Kingston on Tuesday morning,  August 7.

The Kingston police have reported that shortly after 4:00 a.m., a vendor noticed fire coming from a rear section of the open market and raised an alarm.

The Fire Department was alerted and upon arrival, the firefighters took several hours to put out the blaze which had already destroyed dozens of stalls and their contents at the market.

The Jamaica music fraternity was plunged into mourning after the passing of “Carrot” formerly of world renowned group Third World.

Dozens of vendors are now reeling from their lost and have reported that they spent most of their earnings to purchase stock to meet the back to school shopping.
