Female Taken into Custody for Questioning in Connection with Murder of Businessman Outside Popular Montego Bay Night Club

Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: A woman who is said to be a common-law wife of the  popular businessman who was shot and killed by gunmen outside a popular night club in Montego Bay on Thursday morning, November 29, was taken into custody for questioning, during a joint military operation carried out in Bogue Village, Montego Bay, St James, on Friday, January 10.

The identity of the female is being withheld,  but a police source related that she was picked up for questioning in connection with the murder of  40-year-old Basil Bryce, businessman of Catherine Mount, Mount Salem, St. James.

Reports by the police are that about 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 29. Bryce and a group of friends were at the Taboo night club, located at Fairview Complex in Montego Bay, when he went on the outside.

Bryce was in the process of entering his motorcar when he was ambushed by two armed men, who brandished handguns and opened fire hitting him multiple times to his upper body. He died on the spot.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the victim was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
