Jamaica Crime News, St James: Female Fake Doctor Remanded – Alicia Patrice England, the female who was recently arrested and charged by investigators attached to the Area One Fraud Squad, for impersonating a doctor and Fraud, was remanded into custody when she appeared in the St James Parish Court on Friday, March 22.
England who was not present in Court was represented by her attorney Martyn Thomas. She is booked to reappear in court on April 9, when a bail application is expected to be made.
Recently investigators attached to the Area One Fraud Squad in St James, confirmed the arrest of the female who was being sought by the police for several crimes, which includes Forgery, Uttering false document, and Obtaining money by false pretense.
These allegations stemmed from her allegedly posing as a medical doctor in Western Jamaica.
The police reported that the accused has been allegedly posing as a medical doctor, and was being sought for breaches of the Medical Act, and the Larceny Act.
The accused Alicia Patrice England who also goes by the name McCrane, or Dr. McCrane was taken into custody last Wednesday morning.
She was later questioned and subsequently charged.
It is reported that in one case England collected payment for allegedly treating a 2-year old child in Western Jamaica, and wrote prescriptions.
Several persons in St James are believed to have been victims of the woman’s scam. The police are now asking these persons to come forward and contact the Area One Fraud Squad immediately.
