Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)  – Father Murdered, 10-year-old Shot and Injured: A 10-yr-old student, who attends the Lucea Primary School in Hanover, is now nursing gunshot wounds in hospital following a shooting incident on Thursday night at her home in Kew District Hanover.

Her father was also shot and killed. He has been identified as Cleveland Gordon, otherwise called Wrathy, 41-yr-old Shopkeeper of Kew District also in the parish. Meanwhile, his 10-yr-old daughter remains at hospital in serious but stable condition.

The Lucea police reported that about 8:20 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017, Gordon along with his wife and their three children were outside their shop at Kew District. Minutes later, a motorcycle drove up with two men and the pillion rider jumped off. He brandished a high powered weapon and opened fire on the shopkeeper and his family.

Gordon ran towards a dirt track beside the shop, but he was chased by the gunman who shot and killed him. The gunman then opened fire at the family members who ran in separate directions. He then jumped back on the motorcycle and escaped in the area. It was then discovered the 10-yr-old girl was shot.

She along with her father were rushed to the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea, where Gordon was pronounced dead and his daughter admitted in stable condition.
