Fatal Accident along PJ Patterson Highway

Jamaica News, St Catherine: One man is now dead and two others admitted to hospital in serious but stable condition, following their involvements in a motor vehicle accident which occurred along a section of the PJ Patterson Highway in St Catherine on Thursday morning.

Dead is Derren Baker, 23-year-old, Fork Lift operator of Riverside Drive in Seaforth, St Thomas.

Reports by the St Catherine North police are that about 9:00 a.m. on Thursday morning,  Baker was driving a Mitsubishi Gallant motor car heading towards May Pen.

On reaching a section of the PJ Patterson Highway, he lost control of the vehicle which crashed into the rear of a parked Toyota Hiace minibus. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and Baker along with two passengers who were traveling in the minibus sustained injuries.

All three were rushed to hospital where Baker was pronounced dead. The other two victims were treated and admitted in serious but stable condition.
