St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Farmer Murdered in Orange District: A man who the Adelphi police say is a popular farmer was shot and killed by unknown assailants in the Orange community of St James on Friday night.

The victim has been identified as Ranique Nash, 30 years old, also of Orange District.

Reports by the Adelphi police are that about 10:20 pm on Friday, Nash drove his motor car from the direction of Montego Bay towards his home in Orange and parked on a section of the Orange main road.

Minutes later residents alerted the Adelphi Police, after hearing loud explosions which sounded like gunshots.

The lawmen rushed to the area, and upon arrival, Nash was seen slumped on the passenger side of his vehicle with what appeared to be
multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

He was immediately transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police have indicated that over the recent weeks the Adelphi policing area has recorded more murders than it normally does, and they are now forced to step up their presence in several of the communities.
