Detectives attached to the Clarendon police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of a man, whose body was discovered on a farm in Woodside district, Frankfield, Clarendon, on Tuesday, June 15.
He has been identified as 55-year-old Anthony Powell, a farmer of Woodside district, also in Frankfield, Clarendon.
Reports from the Frankfield police are that about 4:35 pm, residents in the community went in search of the farmer, who did not return home as he normally does from his farm.
On reaching a section of the farm, Powell was discovered lying on his back, with a tree on top of him.
The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for a post mortem examination.
The police say it is believed that Powell must have been cutting down trees on his farm, when one fell on top of him and he was crushed to death.
