Farmer Arrested and Charged with Two Counts of Shooting

Latest Jamaica News, St Catherine (McKoy’s News): Farmer Arrested and Charged A 23-year-old farmer who reportedly fired several shots at two men in his community, during a dispute between them earlier this year, was apprehended during last week and has now been criminally charged.

Facing charges of two counts of shooting with Intent, and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is Jaharrie Laing, farmer of Mason River in St Catherine.

Reports by the police are that in May of this year, Laing attacked two men along Big Lane in McCooks Pen, St Catherine with a handgun, and fired several shots at them.

The men managed to escape unhurt and a report was made to the police, followed by which the accused fled the area.

An investigation led to Laing being arrested last week and he was criminally charged on Saturday, October 5.
