Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Ishawna’s Equal Rights Song Lands Man in CourtA dispute over the song – Equal Rights – which resulted in a man pulling a machete that was used to damage another man’s windscreen, has wheeled its way in the St. James Parish Court.

The defendant, Kevin Grant made a brief appearance before presiding judge Sandria Wong on Wednesday who extended his bail until August 9.

According to the allegations, the incident occurred at a shop in Kensington in the parish while the men were having a discussion about the song “Equal Rights.”

It is alleged that at about 2:00 pm May 28, 2017 during the course of the discussion, an argument developed between the men, during which Grant allegedly brandished a knife while the complainant armed himself with a bottle to defend himself.

Grant then retrieved a machete and attempted to re-enter the shop but he was prevented from entering. The angry machete-wielding man then went towards the complainant’s car and used the machete to chop the man’s windscreen shattering it.

On Wednesday, Judge Wong-Small deferred proceedings until August 9 when Grant will face his trial.
