Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: Demar Dowe Scott, otherwise called “Ninja” the 24-year-old man who is accused of raping two female tourists at gunpoint, at a popular resort in Montego Bay, St James, on Thursday night, September 28, has now been slapped with multiple charges.
Scott was charged by detectives attached to the Freeport police station on the weekend with charges of Illegal Possession of firearm and ammunition, two counts of assault with intent to rob, two counts of rape, and two counts of grievous sexual assault.
Scott was transported back to the lock-up on the weekend, from St Thomas, days after he turned up at a hospital in the parish, seeking treatment for gunshot wounds, and was apprehended.
Scott, who was employed as a trainee Entertainment Coordinator, to the Reggae Riu Hotel in Rosehall is booked to appear in the St James Parish Court on Wednesday, October 9.
Reports by the police are that, the accused man who has conflicting addresses, for Exchange in Ochi Rios, St Ann and Comfort District in Williamsfield, Manchester, went to the room occupied by both females about 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, night.
It is also reported that some minutes before, he broke into a room occupied by a male visitor and stole his licensed firearm, which he had in his possession upon entering the room occupied by the two American visitors.
He then forcefully had sex with them, while holding them at gunpoint.
While performing his hideous act, the firearm fell from his hand and it was picked up by one of the women who fired two shots in his direction.
Scott ran from the room, jumped from the balcony and escaped in bushes surrounding the compound.
The female raised an alarm and the police were summoned by the hotel management.
Upon arrival, both victims made a report and also handed over a Glock pistol, loaded with sixteen live rounds to the police.
Scott is now suffering from a broken arm, resulting from the gunshots.
