The EJA challenges its members that while we clamber for a raise from the little salaries pays to the musicians on the north coast hotels, we want to play our part in lifting the standard of the product being offered and the standard of discipline. This was declared in the first in a series of entertainers workshop held Saturday, June 15, 2019, at the Show JAM ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX in Montego Bay.

EJA insisted they will ensure the quality of the entertainment product is well above the mediocre being offered by others who now dominate the hotel’s music sector with substandard entertainment which is the first stage of exporting our music and culture to the world through the tourist passing through our shores the reggae capital of the world.

This workshop titled “how to be a better performer” presented by Natalie Morris, entertainment consultant, CEO of Vintage Point Production and former boss of JCDC WEST  attended by the members of the EJA and recorded snippets to be shared with the unavailable members via a WhatsApp group contained by all its members.  The audience was captivated by this inspirational workshop equipped with all the information and materials to train the entertainers towards improving their product (themselves) and the business that can once again make Jamaica proud.

The EJA intends to after the series of training to meet with the Ministry of Entertainment and the relevant hotels in a bid to arrest the substandard entertainment.   This they partially blamed the hotels because of the little being offered taken up by armatures and keeps the professional unemployed.

This one-year-old no-nonsense entertainment union EJA, is making strides registering several entertainers all across Jamaica. EJA membership span across all sectors of entertainers not just singers and musicians but, sound system selector, radio DJ, clowns, magicians, producers and all those who form part of the entertainment industry in Jamaica.
