Emancipation Day celebrations kicked off with the customary cultural displays at the Seville Heritage Park in St Ann.

Performers from the Charles Town Maroons joined other cultural groups from across the island in displays representing our African descent.

The 2018 Festival song finalists were among the night’s musical entertainment, that also included industry icons such as Fab 5.

Several members of the government attended the celebrations including Minister of Culture Olivia Babsy Grange and Education Minister Ruel Reid.
