Elderly Man Perishes in Westmoreland Fire

Latest Jamaica News, Westmoreland (McKoy’s News) – An elderly Westmoreland retired farmer died in a fire which destroyed his house in Mooreland, Little London, Westmoreland, on Wednesday evening, August 21.

The dead man has been identified as 65-year-old Donald Cockram, retired farmer of Mooreland district.

Reports by the police are that about 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, residents saw fire coming from the house and summoned the fire department and the police.

Upon the arrival of the firemen, a cooling down operation was carried out and the charred remains of the elderly farmer found under the burnt rubble.

The body was later removed to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
