Elderly Female Canadian Tourist Dies at Azul Resort in Negril

Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Female Canadian Tourist Dies: The police in the parish of Hanover have now launched an investigation into the death of an elderly female Canadian tourist who died during her stay at a resort in Negril on Monday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as 80-yr-old Alexandra Valiotis of 8315 Wiseman Avenue in Montreal, Canada.

Reports by the Hanover police are that about 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017, Valiotis who was staying at the Azul Resort in Negril, reportedly left her room and went for a swim.

Minutes later the Lifeguard on duty noticed that the elderly tourist was floating in the water with froth coming from her mouth. He immediately rushed to her aid and she was rushed to the Nursing Station where she was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.

The body was later removed to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
