Latest Jamaica News, St James: A man and a woman, both from Garlands, St. James, who were arrested after a dwelling house was being broken into, were brought before the St. James Parish Court on Monday, July 22.
Randall Campbell pleaded guilty to housebreaking and larceny and not guilty to receiving stolen property, while Nola Campbell pleaded not guilty to receiving stolen property.
Between May 10 and 13, 2019, the complainant reportedly locked her dwelling house and left and upon her return, she noticed that it had been broken into. A 32” television set, a DVD player, a Toshiba laptop, a blender, an electric kettle and a watch were reportedly stolen.
The matter was reported to the police who later found the items in the accused man’s possession. The television set was reportedly found in possession of the female accused.
During Monday’s proceedings, presiding judge Sandria Wong-Small requested a social enquiry report for the male accused and set the matter for sentencing and mention respectively on September 9.
The male defendant was remanded in police custody while the female had her bail extended.
