Dressmaker Found Dead in Chicken Coop

St Ann, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The St Ann Police reports the death of a  60-year-old woman, whose body was found in a fowl coop in the back of her house in Williamsfield, St Ann on Friday.

Police say they are investigating the death of the woman identified as Lorna Chisolm Matthews, 60-years-old, a dressmaker from the Williamsfield district, in the parish of St Ann.

Reports are that at about 4:15 p.m., Mr Matthews tried to locate his wife in the house, and after realising that she was not inside their home he went searching for her outside.

The husband was shocked to find his wife in their backyard chicken coop, dead, with a scarf tied around her neck. He summoned neighbours who called the police.

On arrival, the police removed the body.

Community members have suspected that the 60-year-old woman ended her own life by suicide. However, the police have not confirmed this.

Police say they are investigating the nature of the Ms Chisolm Matthews death.
