Jamaica News, April, 11, 2018 – Help Anna-Kay Findleter Get Liver Transplant
In 2015 Anna-kay Findleter was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), which is a chronic liver disease characterized by inflammation of the bile ducts. This severe condition has caused her health to deteriorate rapidly and without a liver transplant she may lose her life.
According to a family member who visited our News office, Anna-kay is currently at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida awaiting a liver transplant, which is the only way her life can be saved. She says the cost for a Liver Transplant is USD$500,000.00 with additional expenses of Housing USD$750.00 per month and Post-Surgery Medication Cost USD$5,000.00 per month. So far they have gotten over USD$14,000.00 through her “gofundme” account, however, they have a long way to go.
Anna-kay is now appealing to members of the public for financial assistance to facilitate a much-needed surgical intervention.

Anna-Kay’s Plea.
Before my diagnosis, I was full of life and had plans to pursue a career in Banking and Finance. I am a caring, compassionate, thoughtful person who is always looking out and standing up for my family, friends and acquaintances. While undergoing treatment for PSC and dealing with the multiple symptoms and side effects of my disease- jaundice, fever, pain in the abdominal area and weakness. I volunteered and worked with various social groups and organizations. I spent considerable time volunteering with the Jamaica Cancer Care and Research Institute in Kingston, Jamaica.
How can you help?
I like to view the glass of life as half full rather than half empty. Like my failing health, my spirit is now being challenged. I am in dire need of financial assistance to defray the expensive costs for a liver transplant, the post-surgery and recovery medical fees.
