(JIS)- Dominican Republic President Comes on Monday: President of the Dominican Republic, His Excellency Danilo Medina Sanchez, will pay a one-day State visit to Jamaica on Monday, November 27.
President Medina is scheduled to arrive at the Norman Manley International Airport at 10:00 am where he will be met by Governor General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen; Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness; and Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Rocky Meade.
There will be a 21-gun salute and President Medina will inspect the Guard of Honour formed by the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF).
He will then travel to National Heroes Park, where he will lay a floral tribute at the Cenotaph in honour of those who died in the world wars.
President Medina will hold talks with the Prime Minister at Jamaica House on a range of bilateral, regional and multilateral issues.
The visit will be highlighted by the conferment of the Order of Excellence on the Dominican Republic President by the Governor General during a ceremony at King’s House.
President Medina will, in turn, confer the State Honour of Dominican Republic on Prime Minister Holness.
The packed agenda will include a visit to the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Kingston, where President Medina will meet with Ambassador His Excellency Jose Tomas Ares, and business people from the Dominican Republic in Jamaica.
He is also scheduled to receive a courtesy call from Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Peter Phillips.
President Medina will depart Kingston for Montego Bay on Monday evening, where he will participate in the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) global conference at the Montego Bay Convention Centre from November 27 to 29.
