St Catherine, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – A man wanted in the US on charges of attempting to sell 25 lbs of Cannabis to an undercover New Jersey police, who eluded prosecution of the crime by running to Jamaica where he set up a new life for 13-years as DJ Tallman, was nabbed in Portmore, St Catherine on Tuesday, January, 23.
The 48-year-old Davey Scott was picked up in Portmore, Jamaica, on Tuesday, after living in Jamaica for 13-years and working as a sound system promoter and Disk Jock and going by the alias ” DJ Tallman” or DJ Tall Boss.
DJ Tall Boss worked as a promoter and owner of popular Portmore sound system Di Unit, which produces the annual Portmore Dancehall Awards.
According to authorities, Scott tried in 2001 to sell 25 pounds of marijuana to an undercover officer with the Bergen County, New Jersey’s Prosecutor Office – Narcotics Task Force. During the bust, he tried to get away when he struck a detective with his vehicle.
Police say Scott did not make his 2014 court appearance and disappeared.
His charges include possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, aggravated assault on a police officer and hindering apprehension.
Minister Montague first announced his capture, when he hailed Scott’s apprehension as a result of the State of Emergency operation.
Davey Scott, alias DJ Tallman is now in jail pending extradition to New Jersey USA to face his charges.
