Discovery Bay Police Launch Search for Gunman Who Ran Leaving Firearm

Jamaica Crime News, St Ann: The Discovery Bay police in the parish of St. Ann, say they have now commenced a manhunt, for a man who managed to elude a team of officers and left behind an illegal firearm on Friday, March 29.

Reports by the police are that about 5:40 a.m., a team of officers were on patrol duties at a section of Jack Lodge, in Discovery Bay, St Ann, when they say the accused walking along the roadway, with an illegal firearm in his hand.

The gunman was approached and upon seeing the lawmen, he ran and threw the weapon in a parked vehicle before making his escape on foot in the area.

The weapon was retrieve, and it was found to be a  .38 pistol, which was loaded with five live .38 rounds of ammunition.
